Julia was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She discovered her passion for performing in the sixth grade when her music teacher encouraged her to join the choir and audition for the school musical. Eleven year old Julia was cast as "Gertrude McFuzz" in Seussical Jr., and her new life took flight.
Since, Julia has been performing in and out of state, portraying roles that exhibit her quirky yet commanding persona, as well as her sharp-witted yet elegant demeanor. Equally at home in both contemporary and classical musical theatre styles, she has performed such diverse roles as "Lilli Vanessi/Kate" in Kiss Me, Kate, "Vivienne Kensington" in Legally Blonde, "Rusty" in Footloose, "Jovie" in Elf: The Musical, and "Cinderella" in Into The Woods.
Julia graduated in May of 2019, receiving her Bachelor of Music from the Music Theatre and Opera program at Arizona State University. She recently finished what was supposed to be a 10-month contract with Charleston Stage in Charleston, South Carolina (cut six weeks short due to COVID-19). However, Julia did sign a second contract with Charleston Stage, set to start in June of 2020 and end in May of 2021. While not performing, she loves to drink red wine, pet dogs, and explore nature.
Julia is also experienced in education, teaching her own musical theatre and acting classes through the structure of larger companies. Though she is practiced in age ranges from 6-18, her favorite groups are kindergarten- 3rd grade. Julia has taught vocal and acting technique as well as choreography. She also participates in a program called "Educating Creative Minds" (ECM) with Charleston Stage. Through this curriculum, she attends elementary and middle schools across the valley and teaches topics ranging anywhere from English to Science through arts education.
